Website Optimization Process: Step 8 - Link Development

For the duration of the website marketing campaign, there are two main aspects of link development to consider:

  1. Internal Link Structure
  2. Incoming/Outgoing Links

The importance to website optimization and link development cannot be stressed enough. Poorly designed internal link structures can essentially create roadblocks to search engine spiders. Alpine SEO provides recommendations to make your site easy to crawl and easy to find your most relevant information.

Equally as important to website optimization are you incoming and outgoing links. This is one of the most time-consuming projects we undertake because of its importance to the major search engines. It is mainly through link development that determines the "expert" factor of your site. It is other websites validating that you have relevant information. Outbound links are important too. The search engines want to you to reach out and show that you know other quality sites. Essentially, you can be penalized if all links are pointing to you, but you have no outbound links.

We do not join link farms or employ any other means to build links to your site. We research your competitors, see who is linking to them, and ask for a link to your site. The Alpine SEO ToolSet™ will not only validate links currently pointing to your site, but it will also see who is linking to your competition.

The objective to developing high quality incoming links is to have those links coming from sites that complement or supplement your keyphrase areas. Most often a high quality website has the following characteristics:

  • High monthly traffic with visitors interested in your subject matter
  • Has a limited number of outbound links (less than 100)
  • Is well ranked in the major search engines

By utilizing the Alpine SEO ToolSet™, we will help the search engines index pages that already link to your site. The truth is, no single search engine knows all of the pages that link to you. Through our Toolset, we make an aggregated list of all the pages that are known by any search engine that links to your site. We verify the list and compile it into a special mapping page for the search engine spiders therefore enhancing your website positioning.
